Too funny not to share
The whole world has gone meta. Last night in the UK, episode four of a five night miniseries of Torchwood aired. Because of the shocking happenings of this episode, shortly after airing the word "Torchwood" became a trending topic on Twitter. If you, as an American who has allegedly not been able to see it, clicked on the tag in Twitter because you're like, "hey, I like Torchwood. I wonder what they're talking about," you would inevitably see a massive spoiler. The show is airing in the US starting July 20th on BBC America (and their new HD channel, which launches that week as well). Because we live in the future, we can accidentally know what's going to be on our TVs before it happens. But the best part of it is that this made the artsbeat blog of the NY Times. So it was a newspaper's online presence, reporting on a story about Twitter, ruining a UK TV show for the US fans, who can now go to Twitter and check out the spoilers because the NY Times told us to. Lucky for me, I never look at the
trending topics on Twitter. So someone on Twitter pointed out the NY
Times article to me. The future is silly, y'all.
