What old wives’ tale have you discovered to be totally untrue?
Submitted by Jack Yan.
Many of you who didn't grow up where the weather sucked donkeys might have never heard the phrase "it's too cold to snow", but people where I lived said it all the time. This is complete and utter bs. I will admit that it's unusual, but it does happen. I was caught in near blizzard conditions somewhere in zero to minus 10 (and that's F not C, people) range winter break of my freshman year in college. Hammering home once again that I will never understand why anyone would voluntarily live in Minnesota. I may hold a bit of a grudge for having moved there in the first place when I was six, but I'm excited beyond words that I never have to go there ever again for the holidays which, I don't know if you've noticed or not, happen in winter. I'll take my optional winter you can drive to any day over that.
What video game is your personal Game of the Year?
Submitted by SimpleNate.
That one's easy: Mario Strikers Charged for the Wii. But just about anything on the Wii is super fun. I'm looking forward to the impending arrival of Super Mario Galaxy and spending some more quality time with Lego Star Wars the Complete Saga.
After all the recent season and series finales, what are you watching on TV these days?
Huh, well, isn't this one amazingly appropriate? There's pretty much nothing. I'm sticking with Studio 60 until the bitter end. Which I think is another couple of weeks. Tonight is part 2. Next week is part 3. I'm pretty sure there won't be a "President Bartlet is shot" type of cliffhanger. And Sorkin seems determined to send it off with a big ol' meta F-you to television. Holy crap.
Beyond that I think I'm down to The Daily Show and The Colbert Report.
And since there's nothing else on, tomorrow is the Bob Barker's last show of The Price is Right. And if you miss it during the day, it's being rerun right before The Daytime Emmy's.
How have people mispronounced your name? How is it supposed to sound?
Submitted by Lorie.
I'm just posting this because I think it's hilarious. How is it supposed to sound? Wouldn't that ruin the fun? And I couldn't even begin to try to phonetically spell out all the ways that it's been mispronounced. I haven't got all night.
Ok, fine. I think the closest phonetic approximation is dell-jin. But that i should really be a schwa. Just don't tell the telemarketers, ok?
I think it was Lynn who told a story about being in a store and having a clerk thank her by name and get it right. Turns out the clerk knew Grammy from somewhere. I reckon if you live in Portland and know how to pronounce it, you probably knew my Grammy.
What's the most famous movie you've never seen?

This is another one of those, "where do I begin?" questions. In no particular order, and using the AFI 100 as a guide:
Ghandi
Shindler's List
The Right Stuff
Rocky
One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest
Philadelphia
Lawrence of Arabia
Guess Who's Coming to Dinner
The Color Purple
Psycho
Raging Bull
And that's just a sampling. There are clearly gaps in my film history knowledge.
Do you play any musical instruments?
I play several instruments poorly. I'm probably best at the saxophone. I own a tenor and an alto and have played since I was nine. I have my mother's flute, but can barely make it make a sound. I played trumpet (3rd trumpet for 4 years, woohoo!) in the Northwestern University Marching Band (NUMB). And I stopped taking piano lessons a little more than 20 years ago, so I'm not sure that qualifies anymore. I mean, I still know the names of the keys and all, and can read music, but "play"? I doubt it. Always wanted to learn the guitar. Someday maybe.
What TV show(s) will you be watching this season? Why?

Have you been reading? And also, Studio 60.
What movie can you quote by heart?
Submitted by clamhead.
I'll actually answer this once since it plays to my strengths. There are several, and probably more tv shows, but the one movie that springs immediately to mind is The Big Lebowski. Serenity is probably getting close, and I could probably do all of Firefly, and much of Buffy. Most Monty Python, movies and tv fall in this category as well. And Eddie Izzard: Dress to Kill. Um, Star Wars, Empire and Jedi, Princess Bride, and probably the first three seasons of The West Wing. Maybe Old School. Ok, people who spend way too much time with me, which ones did I forget?
